YAMAHA CSG CUSTOM CLARINET, £1495

A superb condition Yamaha CSG CUSTOM clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Yamaha made great claims for the CSG range; a new bore design is supposed to provide great tonal richness, as found in older instruments made from properly aged Grenadilla. Interestingly the bore is smaller than the R13 at 14.60mm, which is strongly reminiscent of the Buffet DG, as is the lack of undercutting on the upper joint. Certainly the design has found much favour with many fine players, including Michael Collins and Nicholas Cox. Indeed this particular clarinet was presented by Nicholas Cox as a prize. The latest CSG III differs from this model in that it offers revised key work, including a a LH Ab/Eb lever, and a voicing groove to the bell.
The instrument has no cracks or damage to the wood, which is finest unstained Grenadilla. This Bb, S/N 03324, has reflector fish skin pads throughout in good condition. The Silver plated key work is pristine throughout. The m'piece is the original Yamaha 5CM custom ebonite in excellent condition, as is the original case.
