BUFFET C12 CONSERVATOIRE Bb CLARINET, £845

A good condition Buffet C12 Bb clarinet. This instrument was originally manufactured as Buffet's entry level professional wooden model, and though there has been some confusion from Buffet, is still advertised as such on their current website. These days the Buffet website describes the instrument as suitable for the young advancing professsional, about to enter Music Conservatoire. This example was probably a special order from Buffet as it has an articulated C#/G# key, which was a custom option.
The Nickel Silver key work is in good condition with plating wear only to the low Ab/Eb key, see photo 7, the plating is about 95%. We have just completely repadded in Pisoni Premium Deluxe tan leather pads & the clarinet is sold with our "Clarinets Direct" 1 year warranty. There is one old, pinned, surface crack to the upper joint, see photo 8. Pinning would seem excessive as the crack does not go through to the bore, but at least this method ensures the wood will not move thereafter. The matching serial nos. are F241749 which dates to 1983, an excellent period of Buffet manufacture. The supplied m'piece is an original Buffet C in ebonite.
