This is a very good condition Selmer Bundy Alto Clarinet in Resonite to low Eb. This instrument is unusual in that it has had only one careful adult owner, unlike most secondhand Bundy Alto's which have been owned by institutions. Consequently it is in better condition than many we have seen. This instrument was part of a collection which included a Selmer Paris Bass and Basset Horn. There are no cracks or damage to the body; minor surface scratches and marks only. The crook is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches. The bell is also in good condition, but it has a patch of wear to the plating, see photo 8. There is only slight plating loss to some of the Nickel Silver ring finger touchpieces; the plating is around 95%. The Alto has fish skin pads throughout in good order. The serial nos. are 11282. The instrument comes with a sling, and also there is a floor peg attachment to the bell. Usually Alto's are played with a sling, if, however, the new owner wishes to have a floor peg, we can supply one to the purchasers' requirements for an additional, 30.00 The case is used, but with a good interior and exterior, and unusually, a dust cover. All latches function well. The m'piece is a Noblet in ebonite in good condition. A selection of reeds is also supplied. This is a fine example of the proven Selmer design. It plays easily and is an ideal first Alto clarinet purchase.
