This is a very good condition Buffet Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb,
which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct.
This Bass has been owned and played in London most recently by a London based amateur
who specialises in Bass instruments, including Baritone Sax & Bass Trombone.
He now no longer needs this instrument and it has been very well cared for. It has nearly identical specification
to the current Buffet Prestige model; double overblowing vent and LH alternative
Ab/Eb. However it does not have an articulated C sharp/G sharp mechanism.
All German Silver key work is in excellent condition, with only a natural patina due to age,
there is no wear.
There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is very fine.
The bell and crook are both in good condition with only a couple of tiny dings to the bell, and light surface scratches.
The instrument is padded throughout in tan leather pads of the finest quality, the largest with reflectors,
all are in "as new" condition.
This Bass has been regularly serviced and just had a thorough check over in our workshop.
The matching serial nos. are K212 which dates to the 1960s.
At that period, "Dallas" were the sole London agents for Buffet, and their stamp is also on the instrument.
The Paxman case shows some wear: The lining is worn, but still protects the instrument well,
and the latches are secure. The dust cover has protected the case well.
The m'piece is a custom Pillinger professional model, with a wide tip opening, in very good condition.
In addition to the floor peg attachment at the rear of the instrument there is also a sling hook,
and a sling is provided.
