This is a superb condition Buffet Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb.
This Bass has had only 2 owners from new; initially a
leading London professional, and, more recently, a specialist Bass player who has just traded up to a low C model.
It is an outstanding example of a low Eb Bass. It has similar specification
to the current Buffet Prestige model; double overblowing vent, articulated C#/G#, and LH alternative
Ab/Eb.
All German Silver key work is in excellent condition, with a fine shine.
There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is pristine.
The bell and crook are both in excellent condition with no dents, just light surface scratches.
The instrument has just been completely overhauled in tan leather pads in our workshop
and is sold with our full 1 year warranty.
The matching serial nos. are 20145 which dates to 1967.
At that period, "Dallas" were the sole London agents for Buffet, and their stamp is also on the instrument.
The original case shows some wear: The lining is worn, but still protects the instrument well,
and the latches are secure.
The m'piece is a professional J&D Hite ebonite model in good condition.
A Yamaha floor peg attachment has been fitted to the bell, and a spike is provided, but the instrument has double sling hooks,
so, if required, it could be played with a sling.
