NOBLET, PARIS, BY LEBLANC, PLATEAU ARTIST C CLARINET, £1495

This is an ultra rare and unusual Noblet Artist plateau C Clarinet, made by Leblanc, In fact it is the only example of its type which we have seen. Clarinets Direct is fortunate to count many of the UK's foremost professional players amongst our clientele: This exceptional instrument has come to us fom Joe Pacewicz, currently acting Principal Clarinet of the "Royal Scottish National Orchestra" and is in excellent condition. This instrument is the professional Artist Noblet clarinet, with all parts made of finest unstained Grenadilla wood, unlike some of the cheaper models in the Noblet range. The wood has no cracks or repairs, it is in "as new" condition throughout. The instrument has just been completely overhauled, by Mike Huntriss, ex-Bass clarinettist with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, in tan leather pads. The Nickel Silver plate is also in pristine order throughout, with no wear. The upper joint has serial nos, 93638, and the lower joint, 89959. The bore, in common with all other Leblanc made C clarinets, is 14.50mm. The instrument tunes well with the supplied original Noblet mouthpiece [which is in fair used condition], though this instrument is compatible with all French bore m'pieces, which means that usually the player can use the same m'piece they play on their Bb. The case is the original, which is in good used condition. In summation, this is a C with excellent intonation, which, for a covered hole clarinet plays very freely.
