SELMER SERIES 9* A CLARINET, £795

This Selmer Series 9* A clarinet is in very good condition. The 9* was marketed by Selmer as "pour la musique symphonique", the 9 was "pour le jazz et les varietes." In other words the slightly smaller bore 9*, with undercutting, was aimed at the classical market, the wide bore 9 at the Jazz market. This 9* instrument will pair well with any of the contemporary French or Yamaha made quality Bb clarinets.
The clarinet has matching serial nos., U8249 which dates to 1966. The Silver plating is excellent throughout, with no wear. The pads are all brand new fish skin, the instrument has just had a complete re-pad in the Clarinets Direct workshop and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The instrument shows NO evidence of cracks or repairs; the wood throughout is very fine. However the thumb rest has been re-positioned slightly lower, see photo 10, and the wood surface has been slightly scuffed. The double case is well proportioned and is in excellent condition.
