An excellent condition early pair of Selmer 10S clarinets, which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This pair have a single UK owner and were bought new from Selmer UK in 1979, as indicated in the valuation letter from Selmer, which is included in this sale. At that point in time Selmer had not yet put the 10S A clarinet into production: Consequently though the A clarinet has 10S barrels and a 10S bell, it is, in fact, a Selmer Series 10. For that reason the seller is prepared to split the pair, as follows: Series 10 A in double case, for 995. Series 10S Bb in single case with excellent condition Selmer m'piece for 1125. The Selmer 10 series was the first major model manufactured by Selmer to adopt a small bore undercut design, in the Buffet Crampon manner.
This Bb, S/N A2118, dates to the 1979 and has Nickel Silver plate, in fine condition throughout. Both clarinets have just been completely overhauled in "Roo" white leather pads, and the card receipt for this work, totalling 350, is included in the sale. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is in excellent condition. All pieces are original, and have matching stamps. There are two supplied barrels of 64.5mm and 66.5mm. The A, has matching serial nos. Z4349. Like the Bb it is in Nickel Silver plate which is in pristine condition throughout. It has excellent condition wood with no blemishes. The two supplied barrels measure, 64.5mm and 66.5mm. The case is the original Selmer, again in very good condition.
