A Selmer 10S full Boehm clarinet, with all the "bells and whistles" : Fork Eb/Bb, alternative LH Ab/Eb, articulated C#/G# and low Eb. The clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, having come to us via a UK Jazz player. The Selmer 10 series was the first major model manufactured by Selmer to adopt a small bore undercut design, in the Buffet Crampon manner: Indeed with a bore of only 14.60mm, the 10S is even smaller in the bore than the Buffet R13. The clarinet is extremely lively, easy to play, and has excellent intonation.
This Bb, S/N D2547, dates to the mid 1980's and has Silver plate, in good condition throughout. There is only slight wear to the barrel of the RH rings, which is unusual, it appears that a former owner used to rest their figers against this key barrel, see photo 7 however the plating has not been affected. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is in very good condition. The instrument has just been re-padded in finest Pisoni white leather pads. All pieces are original and have matching stamps, and there are 2 barrels of 64.5mm and 66.5mm. The m'piece is a Vandoren B45 Lyre in very good condition. The case is the original Selmer, with scuffs, and stains to the interior lining, it still latches well.
