A good condition Selmer 10S clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has been professionally owned and played by a London Jazz player. The Selmer 10S was the first major model manufactured by Selmer to adopt a small bore undercut design, in the Buffet Crampon manner: Indeed with a bore of only 14.60mm, the 10S is even smaller in the bore than the Buffet R13. The clarinet is extremely lively, easy to play, and has excellent intonation.
This Bb, with matching serial nos. A6982, dates to 1981 and has Nickel Silver plate in good condition. There is slight wear to the plating, mainly on the ring fingers; overall the plating is about 95%. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is in good order throughout, apart from a small nick to the outer rim of the upper joint tenon, see photo 2. The pads are all double bladder fishskin which are used, but sealing. The instrument has been through our workshop for a thorough "check down" prior to sale. All pieces are original and have matching stamps. There are 2 supplied barrels, of 64.5mm and 66.5mm. The mouthpiece is a new stock Buffet. The original case is much used but still fully serviceable.
