A superb condition pair of B&H 1010's which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct.
The sole owner, a busy GP who sadly has no time for the clarinet these days, bought them
new in 1981. They have been extremely well maintained, and were re-padded with Gordon Beeson pads
at Jack & Lindsay Dawkes. The tuning and response of the pair are excellent.
The Bb, serial no. 544027, has no cracks or repairs.
All tan leather pads Gordon Beeson pads are "as new", as are the touch and tenon corks.
The Silver plate is very good, with only a slight "blueing" mainly to the m'piece caps.
Both instruments feature the late version of the Acton patent vent,
for improved tuning in the RH.
The A, serial no. 500869, has no cracks or repairs. The Silver plate throughout is in excellent shape,
with only a slight "blueing" to the E/B touchpiece. The current owner feels
that this may possibly be down to lack of use, certainly the stamps are all bright,
and the instrument is in near mint condition.
There are 2 barrels of 64.5mm and
62.5mm. The two supplied m'pieces are both Boosey & Hawkes No. 2's,
again in excellent condition.
The case is the original in fair condition, the interior is excellent without stains, but there are some scuffs,
and paint streaks to the exterior.
