A very fine pair of B&H 1010's which are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct.
These were sourced by Vic Slaymark through Geoffrey Acton,
the designer of the Acton Vent in 1983, for their current owner.
And the 1983 bill of sale from Geoffrey Acton is included.
They have been extremely well maintained, and were recently re-padded with Gordon Beeson pads.
The tuning and response of the pair are excellent.
The Bb, serial no. 509842, has no cracks or repairs.
All tan leather pads are in good condition, as are the touch and tenon corks.
The Silver plate is excellent without marks, thouigh there is a slight darkening to the tenon rings
of 2 of the barrels.
Both instruments feature the late version of the Acton patent vent,
for improved tuning in the RH.
The A, serial no. 527569, has no cracks or repairs. The Silver plate throughout is in excellent shape.
There are 4 barrels of 64.5mm 64.3mm, 64.2mm and
62.5mm. The supplied m'piece is a Boosey & Hawkes No. 2,
The case is the original in poor condition, the interior shows tears to the lining and stains, and there are some scuffs
to the exterior. This case had originally belonged to Vic Slaymark, and on receiving the pair,
the current owner exchanged the new case of this pair for Vic's old case as a thank you for sourcing the instruments.
If desired we can supply a new Rosetti modern back pack style double case for an additional £45.
