SELMER PARIS PROFESSIONAL BASS

This is a very fine condition Selmer Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct.  The Maillechort keywork is in very good condition with no wear, though it could do with a good polish. The sleeved, adjustable, crook is in excellent condition,  as is the bell, with no dents or damage. The wood overall is very good,  there are a couple of minor surface marks but the wood is of exceptional density and quality, like ebony, much superior to the wood used today. There are NO cracks or repairs.  The Bass has  tan leather pads throughout and they are sealing well, the keywork is also well regulated.  This is a superb Bass; Selmer is generally held to be the finest manufacturer in the world. The matching serial nos. are Q280 which dates to 1955. This is a one professional owner instrument, which has been exceptionally well cared for.  The original Selmer case is well used but functional. The m'piece is a  Selmer C. A home made stand is also included; which works ingeniously off the sling hooks.
