This very fine pair of instruments are a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Their former owner, is one of Britain's leading young players. This pair have been played professionally in some of the UK's premiere orchestras i.e. The London Philharmonic. There is no damage to the wood, which is crack and repair free. The Bb and A are truly special and matched in that they share the exact same serial no. 66610! This is unique in the experience of Clarinets Direct.
The plating overall is good but there has been some slight loss to the plating mainly on the Bb, which has seen more use: The RH little finger touchpieces are slightly affected, see photo 6. Both instruments have had a full check up in our workshop prior to sale, with pads and tenon corks replaced as necessary, and all key work regulated. All pads are either Pisoni Premium Deluxe tan leather, or cork. The A has no plating loss, but some tarnishing to the tenon ring at the top of the lower joint and rear thumb bush. All pieces are original and stamped Leblanc, with 2 interchangeable barrels [ the bores of the Bb and A are identical] of 65.7mm and 65.0mm. The mouthpiece is a used Buffet m'piece provided for play testing. The case is a modern back pack style, in excellent condition.
