PAIR OF BUFFET CRAMPON CLARINETS

An extremely rare & fine matched pair of early Buffet clarinets.. Both instruments date from 1924, the Bb, S/N 1R967, has wood in exceptional condition for its age, with no cracks or damage to the main body of the instrument, there is, however, a repaired, sealed crack to the bell. The Maillechort key work is well regulated with no wear. The pads are all sealing & are mainly fishskin, with the register key and top trill key being tan leather. All corks are good. The A, S/N 137R1, has a repaired pinned crack to the top trill key hole, see photo 11, it is an old stable repair. The pads are again fishskin, generally older, but sealing well. The top tenon cork has been repaired with black thread. The register key on the A has been slightly extended to enable the current owner to reach it more easily. In addition the top tenon of the A barrel has been re-lined in metal to stop wobble, an extremely fine piece of work.  These instruments have been well maintained & played regularly by an amateur with no problems for the last several years. The supplied barrels tune very well at A=440 Hz. The mouthpiece is a used Vandoren 3V in good condition, 1.15mm by 17.5mm. The case is of more modern Buffet type in brown leather, fully functioning but with some slight interior stains.
