A very fine pair of good condition Buffet clarinets. These instruments have a larger bore of 14.9mm,
and larger tone holes than the contemporary Buffet's. The result is a free and easy playing pair,
with excellent intonation, and none of the third register problems inherent in the polycylindrical design.
The Bb has serial number 23785 dating to 1937.
It is in very good condition, and the wood has no cracks, and no surface scratches or scuffs.
The pair have been fully overhauled in finest Deluxe Tan leather pads and are sold with our full 1 year warranty.
The excellent quality German Silver key work
has been buffed and polished.
The mouthpieces are original. One is stamped "B" the other "A".
Very interestingly the A m'piece has a slightly smaller exit bore to improve the intonation
on the A clarinet.
I imagine therefore that this was the standard Buffet practice of the time:
However this pair will play well with any modern French bore m'piece.
A, S/N 24254, dates to 1937. Is is in excellent condition throughout, with no cracks or repairs to the wood,
the surface condition is superb.
The instrument has abviously had very little use. The keywork is also pristine.
The case is the original Buffet, in good condition, and it still latches perfectly, though the handle is missing.
